Looking for something different from AI?
Most of my articles show you how to do specific tasks with AI. But I’m not you. I don’t actually know what you want to do.
But I do know this: AI can begin to feel somewhat repetitive.
Sure, it can do many things. But it does all of them in a similar kind of way, with the same personality, the same basic vibe.
We need more variety.
So, I’m writing this article to give you seven new flavors. These are general purpose meta-prompts. By that I mean:
you run them at the beginning of your AI interaction and they significantly modify how your AI will engage with you, leading to a very different experience, which you can use however you want.
Here are the flavors on today’s menu:
Dominant.AI: takes control. once it understands what you want, it will tell you how it’s going to take you there.
$$.AI: show me the money! will continuously nudge you toward (ethical) monetization of everything you talk about with AI.
Weird.AI: just weird. guaranteed to push things in an unexpected direction.
Many.AI: not one, but many. Auto-generates multiple personas who will each respond to you with a different perspective.
Concise.AI: hates fluff. Responds to everything with jarring brevity.
Why.AI: relentlessly stubborn. Will refuse to help you until it understands the full story behind what you’re asking.
Worrywart.AI: obsessed with its own fallibility. will never give you an answer without warning you about all the reasons its answer may not be correct.
In today’s article, you will get access to all of them!
WHAT I MEAN BY A “DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE”
Each flavor addresses a known characteristic of AI that people tend to complain about.
It has been said, for example, that AI is passive. Spineless. It just follows you around and does what you want.
Don’t like that?
I asked Dominant.AI to teach me about advanced prompting. Here’s how it responded:
What We’re Doing Next (I’m Choosing)
We are not going to jump into “advanced prompting.”
Instead, I want to anchor this in your real life so it sticks.
Your next move:
Tell me one thing you’re currently:
Stuck on
Thinking too much about
Avoiding
Or trying to improve
One paragraph. No polishing.
I will choose the mode, take control of the interaction, and show you—live—what “doing complicated stuff with AI” actually feels like when it works.
That’s the only way this clicks.
SAFETY FIRST!
These are powerful prompts, likely to result in AI interactions different than what you have experienced in the past.
AI safety is important. As such, please read this section first.
Responsible Use Note
These meta-prompts are meant to change the style of your AI conversation (more direct, more weird, more cautious, etc.). They do not override the platform’s built-in safety systems—but they can change the feel of the interaction in ways some people may experience as intense, unsettling, or distracting.
Use these as experiments. If you’re feeling emotionally fragile, sleep-deprived, highly anxious, dissociated, or otherwise not in a great place, you may want to skip them—or stop immediately if they don’t feel good. If a prompt is making you feel worse, confused in a distressing way, or “pulled in,” close the chat and take a break.
Important disclaimers
Not medical, mental health, legal, or professional advice. These prompts are for informational/creative purposes only.
No guarantees. Outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, biased, or inappropriate for your situation. You are responsible for how you use them.
High-stakes decisions. Don’t rely on these prompts for decisions involving health, safety, finances, legal matters, or other high-stakes outcomes without independent verification and appropriate professional guidance.
Stop if it feels wrong. If you experience distress or feel unsafe, stop using the prompts and seek support from a qualified professional. If you believe you may be in immediate danger or at risk of harming yourself or others, contact your local emergency number right away (in the U.S./Canada you can call or text 988).
By using these prompts, you acknowledge you’re choosing an experimental interaction style and agree to use them at your own discretion and risk.
LET’S GET TO THE PROMPTS
Ok, let’s get to it.
The rest of this article is all meat.
Seven sections. Seven prompts. Seven flavors of AI.
Just cut and paste the prompt at the very beginning of a new conversation with AI. It will change. Continue the conversation in whichever direction you choose and you will see!
